On the upcoming Friday, Bydgoszcz will host the world's best youth teams, which will compete for the FIM Team Speedway U21 World Championship title. The track at Sportowa Street is famous from the amount of racing lines, which gives the riders endless possibilities to overtake. That one is certainly one of the best speedway tracks in Poland. During each speedway event in Bydgoszcz, fans can expect lots of action and what is the most important - speedway at the highest world level.
Bydgoszcz is one of the biggest cities in Poland, with about 350,000 citizens. The city is famous for many things, but speedway fans strongly associate this place with Polonia Bydgoszcz. It is one of the oldest speedway centres in the country, where such riders as Tomasz Gollob started their careers.
The speedway section in Polonia Bydgoszcz was established in 1946. Local club won 25 medals of Poland Team Championships. This number consists of 7 golds, 7 silvers and 11 bronze medals. Polonia has already spent 61 seasons in the top division.
After a few weaker years, the club has been rebuilding the roster, which, works pretty well. Polonia finished the 2021 season on the fifth place in the eWinner 1. Liga. The speedway stadium in Bydgoszcz has already hosted many prestigious events. For many years, competitions of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series were held at Sportowa Street. Recently, the fans could admire an extremely exciting competition for the Individual European Championship. However, this will be the first FIM Team Speedway U21 World Championship event in that city.
